– Hovnanian to build homes at Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens
Kenco and Toll Brothers are also building homes at Avenir
Hovnanian is the latest homebuilder with plans to construct houses at the Avenir master-planned community in Palm Beach Gardens.
The homebuilder will build 92 single-family homes, including both single-story and two-story houses, at the community. K. Hovnanian bought the land from the development group for $5.5 million in March, records show.
Pricing has not yet been finalized, according to a spokesperson for K. Hovnanian. The K. Hovnanian homes will open this fall, according to a press release.
The homes will feature two- and three-car garages, with up to five bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths, and will range in size from 2,528 square feet to 4,124 square feet. Many of the home designs will offer an option to include a separate living area with a bedroom, bathroom, and a walk-in closet that could be used by a recent college graduate, a parent or an older relative, according to the release.
Avenir is a massive master-planned community just north of Northlake Boulevard and west of the Florida Turnpike. The community will total 4,752 acres and will include 3,900 homes. The community will feature a working farm and more than 2,400 acres of conservation and preserve areas. The community is approved for 400,000 square feet of retail space, 200,000 square feet for medical uses, more than one million square-feet of professional offices, and a hotel, according to the release.
Kenco and Toll Brothers are also building homes at Avenir.
More homebuilders are seeking to develop new home communities in western Palm Beach County as land becomes scarce and the inventory of single-family homes in South Florida becomes tighter.
